Captain Jonathan Pimentel’s story begins on the shores of the Outer Banks, North Carolina, where he first discovered a love for fishing. What started as a hobby quickly became a lifelong passion, giving him the skills and patience that later shaped his career. At 12 years old, he was already spending countless hours chasing saltwater species, building the foundation of knowledge and drive that continues to define him today.
When Jonathan moved to Missouri during high school, his focus shifted to soccer. But at 21, a tragic car accident changed the course of his life and ended his athletic career. Though his hips could no longer withstand the game, his competitive spirit remained. Fishing filled that void, offering both challenge and fulfillment. What began as a way to stay connected to the outdoors soon grew into something bigger—a calling that merged skill, competition, and community.
Determined to refine his craft, Jonathan dove headfirst into tournament fishing. Local competitions fueled his drive, and before long, he became a respected competitor in the Bassmaster Opens. This tournament experience shaped him into the knowledgeable, detail-oriented guide he is today. As the leader of One More Cast with JP’s Guide Services, Jonathan is recognized not only for his expertise on Lake of the Ozarks and Pomme de Terre Lake but also for his approachable, encouraging style that makes every angler feel at home on the water.
